M G Diagnostics & Imaging Centre, has planned to invest around Rs.60
crore to set up advanced labs across Karnataka. These labs are slated
to come up at Shimoga, Gulbarga, Hubli and Belgaum apart from a centre
in north Bangalore.
The Centre opened its first facility here in Bangalore at an investment of Rs.35
crore and would set up its second lab in north Bangalore for which the
details are being worked out. "Our objective is to set up labs at
locations where patients can access tests ranging from tuberculosis to
cancer", said Mohamed Ibrahim, chairman, MG Diagnostics & Imaging
Centre who is a non-resident Indian.
The Bangalore facility which
was opened here spans over an area of 20,000 sq. ft. It has installed
equipment from GE and Siemens. These include 1.5 Tesla MRI system to
carry out bi-lateral breast imaging, peripheral vascular imaging,
muscoskeletal imaging and volumetric neuro imaging. It is also equipped
with multi-slice CT scanner, digital X-ray, mammography, 4D ultrasound,
cardiac echo, stress test facility and full body bone densitometry
system. The facility also has the ADVIA 2120 for haematology
investigations.
It will conduct TB sensitivity analysis,
multidrug resistance analysis for TB diagnosis apart from bone marrow
and reticulocyte count analysis among other comprehensive diagnostics
under one roof, he added.
"Our effort would be flexible in
adapting to newer technologies and absorb changes quickly to meet the
fast changing healthcare needs of the patients and doctors," stated
Mohammed Khalique, CEO, MG Diagnostics & Imaging Centre.
