Ecron Acunova expands Mangalore Clinical Pharmacology Unit facility to 80 beds

Ecron Acunova, a global  clinical research organisation (CRO) has expanded its Mangalore Clinical Pharmacology Unit to 80-bed facility.

The expansion caters to the growing needs of its global clients in pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic studies. This takes total bed capacity to 176 units in research centres at Mangalore, Manipal and Bangalore. Drug research involves analysing the activity of the drug in plasma using spectroscopy.

According to  D A Prasanna, chairman and managing director, in a  span of  five years, over 250 phase I studies and around 70 late phase studies have been conducted taking the company to top 3 amongst 100 CRO’s in India.

Ecron Acunova which is  Bangalore-based  also has a headquarters in    Frankfurt to oversee operations in 14 European countries. The company is known for its phase I - IV clinical research, including clinical operations, data management, biostatistics, PK/PD services and central lab. It  provides clinical development services to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, nutritional, device and medical diagnostics industries.
