SCOP and DST to organise a national workshop on Feb 18-19

Sinhgad College of Pharmacy (SCOP), Pune will organise a two-day national workshop on ‘Industry-Institute Networking: Fostering New Interactions’ on February 18 and 19, 2011 at the  college campus.  Department of Science and Technology (DST) is sponsoring the event.

It is the first event to be organised in the state of Maharashtra, which will have the people from industry and the educational institutes coming together under the same roof.

The seminar will focus to bridge the gap between the industry and academia, to collaborate in the areas of research, faculty training, use of instrument/equipment facility with the like-minded industries, tapping the job avenues for students.

The programme will be conducted by Dr K S Jain, principal, Sinhgad College of Pharmacy with Prof M N Navale, founder president, STES and Dr S M Navale, secretary, STES and co-ordinated by Dr Amelia M Avachat and Dr J R Madan of SCOP.

The other dignitaries who will attend this programme include Dr G J Samathanam, advisor and Head, Technology Transfer Division, DST, Hemant Koshia, drug commissioner, FDCA, Gujarat, Dr T V Narayana, vice president, IPA and chairman, IPA-Education Division, Dr W N Gade, director, BCUD, Dr C L Kaul, ex-director, Boots India and NIPER and Prof. M N Navale.

The programme will have power point presentations by both industries and educational institutes across the state. This will be followed by one-to-one interaction, between the industries and colleges.

A few of the top pharmaceutical companies in India are going to participate in this event. Matrix Labs India, Lupin, Acoris Research, Wockhardt, Emcure Pharmaceuticals, Centaur Pharmaceuticals, FDC India and Serum Institute of India have consented to participate.
