The  first ever InnoPack event, focused on innovative packaging concepts in the pharmaceutical packaging market, will be held from October 25 to 27 2011 at Messe Frankfurt, Germany, according to the leading events organiser UBM Live, a division of UBM Plc.

Together with collocated events CPhI Worldwide for pharmaceutical ingredients, ICSE for contract services and outsourcing and P-MEC Europe for pharmaceutical technology, InnoPack  with the combined events is expected to attract over 28,500 attendees. Already it has over 80 confirmed global exhibitors, spanning Europe, China and the United States.

InnoPack’s introduction comes as a direct result of visitor feedback from the Packaging Zone at the 2010 ICSE event, where over 11 per cent of attendees surveyed showed a clear interest in packaging, packaging equipment, supplies and resources. Confirmed exhibitors represent a wide range of pharmaceutical packaging sectors including materials, closures, labelling and anti-counterfeiting printing and software including companies such as Gerresheimer AG, Helvoet Pharma, Lablabo, Austar Beijing, Stevanato Group SpA, and Elm-Plastic GmbH. In addition to the exhibitor presence, InnoPack will feature daily “Innovation Briefs” to cover on trend topics in the packaging industry. Specifically, Gunter Nadler from Aptar Pharma and Alfred Breunig from MGlas AG will discuss current trends and innovations in the sector.

In addition to InnoPack, the “Packaging Trail” will make a return to the full line-up of events after a successful introduction in 2010 where over 270 exhibitors were featured in this format, allowing attendees with pharmaceutical packaging needs to easily locate exhibitors with these resources throughout the halls. The “Packaging Trail” complements InnoPack by featuring packaging products that are specific to each event along the trail. The ICSE part of the “Packaging Trail” will feature resources such as contract packers and drug delivery systems. The P-MEC Europe section of the trail will feature manufacturers of innovative packaging related technologies such as Track and Trace solutions, tabulating resources and capsule fillers. All locations along the “Packaging Trail” will benefit from projections for CPhI Worldwide to have the largest visitor attendance to date.
