NIIPM starts 4-day training programme on IPR from July 25 at Nagpur

The National Institute of Intellectual Property Management (NIIPM), Nagpur, a Central Government Organization under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry has started a four-day training programme on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) from July 25, 2011 to create awareness among professionals, patent or TMR agents at NIIPM complex.

Experts and renowned speakers who will be participating in the programme include Dr Mohan Dewan, R K Dewan & Co., Pune, Vijay Tase, Peer Technical Services Pvt Ltd, Prof. S D Tase, M S Venkataraman, H Subramanian, Subramanian and Natraj Associates, New Delhi, G Natarajan, Dr D R Agarwal, ITAG, Kolkata, Sudhir Kochhar, Delhi, Dr Prabuddha Ganguli, CEO, VISION-IPR, Mumbai and Gopakumar Nair, Mumbai.

The programme will provide brief introduction to IPRs, overview of International Technology Transfer, IP licensing in India, need of protection of IPR, granting of a patent specification, patent filing procedure, examination proceedings and International Patent filing.

Sources close to the associates said, “It is observed that many inventors are loosing the chance of obtaining patents for their inventions by commercially using or publishing their invention in newspapers or scientific and technical journals and such inventions are thus remain unprotected and loose their exclusive rights. Therefore, we are conducting this training to create awareness on IPRs.”

Professionals from industries, Research & Development, and scientists etc., IPR related persons from IPR cell, Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO)/LPO, attorneys, legal professionals, patent/TMR agents, advisors, consultants etc., professors, lecturers, students, research scholars, doctors, engineers, pharma related persons, chartered accountants, company secretaries, management people, insurance personnel and other interested persons are invited for the training.

NIIPM is engaged in conducting training, awareness programmes on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) i.e. patents, designs, trademarks & geographical indications. Such IPRs are considered as a barometer of R&D activities, encourages technology transfer, national / foreign direct investments & helps in technological / industrial development.
