Neuland Labs earns net profit of Rs.0.86 cr in Q1

Neuland Laboratories, a Hyderabad based Rs.395 crore pharma major, has earned a net profit of Rs.0.86 crore during the first quarter ended June 2011 as against a net loss of Rs.4.77 crore in the corresponding period of last year. Its EBDITA went up by 94 per cent to Rs.11.91 crore from Rs.6.13 crore. Its net sales increased by 14.9 per cent to Rs.102.31 crore from Rs.89.04 crore. Its earnings per share worked out to Rs.1.59 as compared to negative Rs.8.83 in the last period.
The company's sales in international market touched to Rs.82.97 crore during the quarter under review from Rs.71.78 crore, a growth of 15.6 per cent and its domestic sales increased by 12.1 per cent to Rs.19.34 crore from Rs.17.25 crore.
For the full year ended March 2011, Neuland reported net sales of Rs.393.57 crore and it posted a net profit of Rs.5.07 crore with earnings per share of Rs.9.39.
