Trivitron partners with Hitachi Medical Systems to provide high end imaging solutions

Trivitron Healthcare Pvt Ltd has entered into a strategic partnership with Hitachi Medical Systems to provide high end imaging solutions such as CT, MRI, Digital X-ray and ultrasound systems.
This strategic association will enable Trivitron cater to a larger medical imaging market worth Rs.5,000 crore as against its current market coverage which is estimated at Rs.500 crore in India in imaging segment. The company will also be able to become market leader with over 20 per cent market share over a 3-year period and make it one of the largest and complete imaging solution providers. Further, it will propel the company to achieve Rs.1000 crore revenues by FY 2014.
Following the alliance, the country will have access to Hitachi’s high end Digital X-ray to associate with Vision Engineering’s low end x-ray systems. Trivitron will also enter into manufacturing joint venture over a period of 3-5 years. This will expand the already existing manufacturing JV of Aloka Trivitron Medical Technologies for producing colour Doppler & ultrasound systems.
Commenting on the partnership, Dr G S K Velu, founder and managing director, Trivitron Healthcare said, that we will expand our imaging solutions to healthcare providers to rank amongst the top 4 players in the segment. Our goal is to become the market leader in next 3 years in Indian imaging market and the region.” He also added, “Trivitron was the first to launch indigenously manufactured ultrasound and colour Doppler from Aloka Trivitron Medical Technologies which is also the first facility within Trivitron Medical Technology Park.
Aloka Medical is taken over by Hitachi Medical System and now is known as Hitachi Aloka Medical Systems offering solutions in ultrasound and colour Dopplers.
According to Fujimoto Takehiro, managing director, Hitachi Medical Systems said that Trivitron’s significant presence in Indian imaging market, through comprehensive product range and best in class sales and service team makes it the most appropriate partner for us to expand the market in India. This partnership will allow us to grow our existing trading relationship to manufacturing JV by use of Trivitron-Hitachi-Aloka JV structure over a period of 3-5 years.
“We are also looking forward to strategic collaboration with Vision X-ray, Trivitron’s X-ray arm at Pune to manufacture Digital X-rays etc. We look forward to a fruitful association with Trivitron and aim to expand our expertise in imaging solutions across India. Hitachi Medical will open a liaison office in Delhi soon to coordinate Hitachi Medical Systems activities in India,” he added.
Trivitron is currently present in imaging market in India through a joint venture between Trivitron Healthcare & Hitachi Aloka Medical Ltd (ATMT) which offers ultrasound & colour Doppler. Through its association with Hologic Inc, USA, Trivitron offers digital mammography and bone densitometer. Trivitron has also acquired Pune based Vision Engineering to manufacture x-ray systems. Trivitron’s aim is to offer cost effective medical technology products in India and emerging markets of the world for better healthcare access.
