Pharmexcil to participate in ‘Medica-2011’ at Dusseldorf for first time

Pharmexcil is participating in “Medica-2011”, a prestigious world renowned medical exhibition, for the first time. The event will be held from November 17 to 20 at Dusseldorf, Germany.

Medica is the largest event held every year in Germany for the world’s health and pharmaceutical industry. The Indian pharma and healthcare industry too can showcase their products both in the pharmaceutical, medical and health related technological equipments to the world. “The exhibition will definitely give an insight into the advanced medicinal technology and help us understand the market potentials across the globe, where we can explore our business and of course it will also give us the future scope for prospective development in the health and pharma sectors” said, Dr P V Appaji, executive director, Pharmexcil.

The focus of exhibition is on a host of areas relating to medical and health sector. It ranges right from modern medicines, advanced technology to medical services and publications. In particular, some of the exhibits would be on electro medicine, medical technology, operating equipment, medical furniture, laboratory equipment, diagnostics, rescue equipment, emergency medicine, physiotherapy, orthopaedic technology, single use and consumables, information and communication technology, medical services and publications, computing technology in health care, medical furniture, etc. About 4300 exhibitors from small innovative companies to global players from across the globe participate in this exhibition.

“This is for the fist time we are participating in this kind of an exhibition. Our members of Medical Devices/Surgical sector are enthused to take part in this prestigious event. Though we have been trying to participate since last 2 years, we could succeed in booking a space of 66 sq. meters only this year,” added, Dr Appaji.

According to the Council, the ‘Arab Health 2011’ participants who confirmed their consent for Medica, would be given top priority for stall allocation, at the exhibition. Cost of each stall will be about Rs.28,000/- per sq, meter (approximate). Members, whose export turnover during previous year is less than Rs.15 crore and who have completed one year membership with the council will get a financial assistance maximum of Rs.80,000/-, subject to other conditions of MDA scheme. Interested members can contact concerned department at Pharmexcil on or before September 15, 2010.
