JSS college to organise seminar on 'Experimental Education in Pharmacy' on Sept 10

JSS College of Pharmacy in Mysore is organizing an international seminar on Experimental Education in Pharmacy Practice on September 10 and 11, 2011.  The seminar will focus on case based learning and problem based teaching; preceptor selection and development; and clerkship and internship training, and evaluation.

Sources in the University said the objective of the seminar is to impart practice skills among pharmacy faculties involved in teaching and training Pharm D students and prepare them for the role of preceptors. Pharmacy faculties involved in teaching and training Pharm D students, students of M Pharm –pharmacy practice, and Pharm D can participate in the international seminar.

Dr Mike Rouse from Accreditation Council of Pharmacy Education, Chicago, USA, Dr Lucinda Maine, CEO of American Association of College of Pharmacy, USA, Dr Kevin G Moores, Drug Information Services, University of Lowa, USA and Dr Wafa Dahdal, American College of Clinical Pharmacy, USA will attend the two-day seminar.

The University will also hold two weeks training program on staff development in Teaching Learning Methodologies in Pharmacy Practice. The program will be kick-started on September 12 and continued up to 24th.

The training is organised by the Department of Pharmacy Practice of the University and sponsored by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).
