LifeCell International, India’s largest and premier umbilical cord and menstrual blood stem cell bank has been accredited by National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL), against the meticulous standard of ISO 15189: 2007 for the proficiency of its Labs. This recognition makes LifeCell the first, and currently the only stem cell bank in the country to receive this respected and recognised certification.

NABL provides formal third party recognition of competent laboratories, thus providing a ready means for customers to find reliable testing and calibration services in order to meet their demands. The certification is valid for a period of two years and ensures the laboratories are at par to international level of competence.

On receiving this accreditation, Mayur Abhaya, executive director, LifeCell International, said, “We are proud to receive this prestigious accreditation from NABL which will strengthen the confidence of our customers for our storage and processing facilities. This accreditation also reiterates our commitment of setting industry benchmarks and providing service excellence to our customers who trust us with their precious lifesaving stem cells.”

This accreditation is a testimony to the fact that LifeCell’s laboratory practices are protocol driven, and reflect global best practices. Besides the NABL accreditation, LifeCell is also accredited by American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) and College of American Pathologists (CAP) for adopting to international standards.
