Cellegy founder-chairman resigns, successor named

Cellegy Pharmaceuticals Inc said that President and Chief Executive Officer K. Michael Forrest had been named to the additional post of chairman, succeeding Carl Thornfeldt. Thornfeldt, who founded the biopharmaceutical company, will remain a director and consultant. Felix Baker was also named to the Cellegy board. Forrest has been president and CEO since he joined Cellegy in 1996. He is a director of AlphaGene Inc., a private genomics company, and Inex Pharmaceuticals Inc, a biotechnology company. Thornfeldt, who founded Cellegy in 1989, is a practicing dermatologist and assistant clinical professor of dermatology at the University of Oregon Health Sciences Centre. Baker is a director of pharmaceutical company Neurogen Corp and several private companies. He manages health-care investments for the Tisch family and other investment partnerships focused on the life sciences industry.
