J S Shinde from Maharashtra and Suresh Gupta from Uttar Pradesh have been elected as president and general secretary, respectively, of All India Organisation of Chemists & Druggists (AIOCD). Arul Kumar from Chennai was elected as the treasurer.
They were elected at the general meeting that was organised at Hyderabad recently where 1,500 chemists from across the country were present. After the elections, Vaijanath Jagushte declared the names of the new officials for the term of 2011-2014 during the general meeting.
Besides the declaration of new officials, many issues were discussed in the general meeting.
Vaijanath Jagushte, Surendar Duggal, N M Agarwal conducted the election procedures as election officers. Officials of all the six zones of the country were also declared on the same occasion. Anil Navandar was elected as the vice president; Jaswant Patel as joint secretary for Western Zone; Subhash Agarwal as vice president and Aravind Gupta as joint secretary for Central Zone.
Other elected members are Surjeet Mehta as vice president and Ramesh Khurana as joint secretary for North Zone; D S Guddugi as vice president and Vyankat Raja as joint secretary for South Zone; T R Panthari as vice president and Sudhir Agarwal as joint secretary for North-Central Zone and Ashok Singhal as vice president and Sagar Methi as joint secretary for North-East Zone.
