Quintiles India wins BioSpectrum-ABLE BioServices Co of year award for 2011

Quintiles India has received the BioSpectrum-ABLE BioServices Company of the Year award for 2011. The award, which honours companies and individuals for their performance in the biotech industry, was presented to Quintiles at the BioSpectrum Awards Nite 2011 held in Bangalore on December 16th. Quintiles won the award last year and has received it four times in the past nine years.

“We are delighted to end 2011 with a recognition of our achievements in the Indian industry, a tribute to our employees without whose dedication and hard work this, honour would not have been possible,” said Anil Raghavan, managing director, Quintiles India. “India has one of the the highest disease burdens in the world. We are committed to working with Indian and global customers to develop newer and better medicines for diseases that are endemic to this region.”

In 2011, Quintiles was awarded the Asia Pacific Contract Research Organization of the Year by Frost & Sullivan; named Best CRO in the Vaccine Industry Excellence Asia Awards; placed fourth in the InformationWeek 500 technology innovators list and ranked 25th in the inaugural World’s Best Multinational Workplaces by the Great Place to Work Institute.

The Indian operations were launched in 1997, and currently has more than 2,000 employees at five sites in India: Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad.
