NIPER, Raebareli to organise 2-day symposium on 'medicinal chemistry & pharmaceutical sciences' in Lucknow

The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Raebareli, an autonomous institute under the Department of Pharmaceuticals (DoP), is organising the 4th NIPER (RBL)-CDRI symposium on 'medicinal chemistry and pharmaceutical sciences' on February 23-25 at Central Drug Research Institute (CDRI), Lucknow.

The symposium is jointly organised by CSIR and the CDRL.

This symposium aims to augment knowledge base in the focused area of medicinal chemistry and pharmaceutics which will help to provide a flashback of current state-of-the-art research being conducted in the area of drug discovery and development.

The symposium will focus on giving ideas and a brief exposure by internationally renowned Indian scientists from academia and industry to the future generation of Indian researches/scientists.

India aims to become a Research & Development (R&D) hub for drug discovery by 2020, academic-industry and interactions with future generation researchers in drug discovery and development is a challenging task that requires collective inputs from several scientific disciplines.

The event will encourage M Pharm students to present their research projects on drug discovery.

The event will have renowned personalities from the industry to provide knowledge and information on medicinal chemistry and pharmaceutical sciences, drug discovery and its development taking place currently and in future. Experts who will be present in the event includes: Dr Samir K Brahmachari, director general, CSIR, New Delhi; Dr T K Chakraborty, director, CDRI, Lucknow; organising committee chairman Dr D K Dikshit; vice-chairman, Dr B Kundu, treasurer, Dr P K Shukla, and organising secretary Dr R P Tripathi.
