NephroPlus, a dialysis provider has now instituted highly effective remote monitoring systems across all its dialysis units which has helped it to now record zero cross infection rates. The dialysis major has stated that it is the first centre in the country to have a remote monitoring systems.

The state of kidney care in India currently is in a shambles as more than 1/3rd dialysis patients get infected by life threatening HIV, Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C infections during dialysis. According to experts, India has around 20 lakh ESRD (End Stage Renal Disease) patients and around one third of these patients who are on hemodialysis eventually get infected with a chronic viral disease. Cross infection or hospital acquired infection is fast assuming the status of a chronic epidemic in developing countries.
