CBI arrests assistant drug controller in Mumbai for taking bribe

The anti-corruption unit of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested an assistant drugs controller (ADC), posted at air cargo complex of the Sahar International Airport in Mumbai and a staff of the Custom House Agent for taking a bribe of Rs.50,000 from an importer.

According to sources, the CBI has arrested ADC DK Chouhan and Moinuddin Khan, who was collecting the bribe on behalf of Chouhan. Sources said that the complainant, an importer, approached the CBI some days ago and informed the agency that Khan was demanding Rs.50,000 for issuing a no objection certificate (NOC) for a consignment of of life-saving drugs imported from Sweden.

On this complaint, the CBI laid a trap and arrested Khan, who was collecting the money on behalf of Chouhan.
