DIA to organise one-day workshop on 'Imaging in Clinical Trials' on July 27 in Bengaluru

The Drug Information Association (DIA) is organizing a one-day workshop on 'Imaging in Clinical Trials' on July 27, 2012 at Teleradiology Solutions Pvt. Ltd, Whitefield, Bengaluru.

The event is targeted at medical directors, physicians, project managers,  medical research scientists and radiologists. Professionals from academic institutes, medical centres, pharmaceutical companies, research organizations, biotechnology companies and medical device companies and clinical research investigators are also identified by DIA as among the ideal candidates to benefit from the event.

The chief guest for the event is Dr Vijay Chandru, chairman and CEO  Strand Life Sciences and former president , Association of Biotechnology Led Entrepreneurs (ABLE). Key speakers include Dr Arjun Kalyanpur, chief radiologist, ICL/TRS, Dr Savith Kumar, consultant radiologist, ICL/TRS, Ankita Puri, Head New Business Development, Image Core Lab and Udaya Majety, project manager, Image Core Lab.

The topics address the importance of imaging in clinical trials, imaging biomarkers and their role in clinical trials imaging by Dushyant Sahani, Associate Professor of Radiology, Harvard Medical School and director of CT Imaging, Massachusetts General Hospital.

The Protocol Development, Standardization of Imaging Protocols and Imaging Interpretation for Clinical Trials would be presented by Dr Kalyanpur. Advanced Imaging Techniques, including PET-CT, 3D and CAD is by Dr Savith Kumar and use of information technology/ teleradiology to distribute imaging workflow to a centralized reading facility in clinical trials will be delivered by Ankita Puri.

The daylong event will culminate with a panel discussion on ‘role of core labs’ by industry experts.
