Natco net profit surges by 21.7% in Q1

Natco Pharma has posted satisfactory performance during the first quarter ended June 2012 and its net profit moved up by 21.7 per cent to Rs.17.07 crore from Rs.14.03 crore. Its consolidated net sales also moved up by 20.3 per cent to Rs.142.52 crore from Rs.118.43 crore. The EBDITA increased by 12.8 per cent to Rs.30.76 crore from Rs.27.26 crore. With improvement in profit, its earnings per share improved to Rs.5.48 from Rs.4.98.

The company's sales on standalone basis increased by 18 per cent to Rs.108.58 crore from Rs.92.03 crore and its net profit improved by 32 per cent to Rs.18.18 crore from Rs.13.77 crore. Its formulation sales went up to Rs.70.58 crore from Rs.53.28 crore, a growth of 32.4 per cent. Formulation sales contributed 51 per cent to its total standalone sales. However, its bulk drug sales declined to Rs.39.70 crore from Rs.42.85 crore in the corresponding period of last year.
