Osmania University in collaboration with top hospitals in Hyderabad offers advanced PG diploma in healthcare

The Osmania University in collaboration with top hospitals in Hyderabad is offering a variety of post graduate and advanced post graduate diploma courses in healthcare for the academic year 2012-13.

The university has already invited applications for admission to 15 different courses from eligible candidates. Among these eight are PG diploma courses and seven are advanced PG diploma courses. The PG diploma courses include, operation theatre technology, cardiac anaesthesia technology, medical research assistant, Cath Lab technology, cardiac medical lab technology, perfusion technology, cardiac pulmonary physiotherapy and echo cardiography and sonography.

The courses under the Advanced PG Diploma courses include, physician assistant, emergency medical care, medical imaging technology, cardiac technology, dialysis technology, anaesthesia technology and medical informatics.

All these courses are offered by top six hospitals in Hyderabad which are affiliated to Osmania University. Among them KIMS (Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences) in Secunderabad offers all the courses except, medical research assistant, Cath Lab technology under PG diploma and cardiac technology, dialysis technology courses in Advanced PG diploma. While Yashoda hospital at Secunderabad offers Cath Lab technology and dialysis technology in addition to what KIMS offers.

The Innova Hospital at Tarnaka offers only PG diploma courses, while Medwin Hospital, at Nampally offers only advanced PG diploma courses. The Care Hospitals at Banjarahills offers four Advanced PG diploma courses while the Global hospital at Lakdikapool offers two PG diploma and two advanced PG diploma courses. All these hospitals are renowned super specialty hospitals with all advanced and modern infrastructures in place.

The candidates who are interested to take these courses should have a Bachelor’s degree and must have studied at least one life sciences subjects at degree level to be eligible for all the 14 courses except for medical informatics.

For the medical informatics course all graduates even those who have not studied life sciences are eligible, but graduates with oriental languages are not eligible for this course. Interested candidates can download their application from the website www.osmania.ac.in and should apply to the concern authorities on or before August 31, 2012.
