The Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India (Pharmexcil) will organise the iPHEX 2013--the mega exhibition of Indian pharmaceutical products and technologies-- in Mumbai from April 24 to 26, 2013.
Over 400 international buyers including regulators are expected to visit the mega show in Mumbai. iPHEX 2013 brochure was launched recently by Rajeev Kher, additional secretary, union ministry of commerce and industry, together with senior members and officials from Pharmexcil.
Pharmexcil chairman NR Munjal said that iPHEX 2013 shall fulfil the long awaited demand of Indian pharma industry to have their own show and we endeavour to bring together the drugs, pharmaceutical and healthcare industry – all under one roof.
Dr P V Appaji, director general, Pharmexcil, stated that iPHEX 2013 will be the biggest industry exposition showcasing the diverse range of products and will include formulations, APIs, Ayush, nutraceuticals, health services, biotechnology and biotechnology products, R&D services etc. “Indian pharma exports are currently at US$ 13.4 billion and iPHEX exhibition will be a catalyst in helping us reach US$ 25 billion by 2014,” said Dr Appaji.
“We are inviting over 400 international buyers to visit iPHEX 2013 and an International outreach campaign shall be launched soon to promote the event to overseas buyers,” informed Ashutosh Gupta, vice chairman, Pharmexcil. “We also intend to invite drug regulators & FDA officials along with government procurement agencies, hospitals and health service providers,” added Gupta.
“iPHEX 2013 will be a complete value chain show and Pharmexcil is creating a sustainable pharma industry platform with a special focus on exports market development,” said Bhavin Mehta, iPHEX 2013 committee chief. “In addition to a world class exhibition and meeting place for Indian companies and global buyers, Pharmexcil plans to organise several thematic seminars and conferences on the sidelines as well. These shall include Pharma sector investments, R&D and Innovation, overseas market entry strategies etc.,” added Mehta.
