S K Patel College of Pharmaceutical Education & Research, Gujarat, a constituent college of Ganpat University is organising a national seminar on “Bioavailability Enhancement Techniques & Regulatory Issues” on October 27, 2012 at the college. This seminar is arranged for academicians/ post graduate and under graduate pharmacy students or science college/ scientists.

The seminar is sponsored by Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).

The objective of the seminar is to highlight the importance of bioavailability enhancement and update recent techniques, to highlight current pharmaceutical research in formulation of drug with low oral bioavailability, novel technologies to address poor bioavailability challenges, highlighting the key regulatory issue related to formulation which enhanced bioavailability.

This seminar will cover subjects like BCS classification and need for bioavailability enhancement, various techniques like: lipid-based drug delivery systems, hydrophilic formulations, softgel capsules, liquid-filled hard shell capsules, nanosuspension, solid lipid nanoparticle, particle engineering and composite particles, hot melt extrudates, solid dispersion, inclusion complexes, salt formation, etc.

SK Patel College informed that pharmacy students and scientists will have an opportunity to interact with the resource persons. This interaction will provide the base for students to learn new techniques and enhance their knowledge in formulations and drug delivery systems.

S K Patel college has invited eminent resource persons from academia and industry which will serve as expert for the programme. They will provide in-depth information through lectures and discussions on techniques including lipid-based drug delivery systems, hydrophilic formulations, softgel capsules, etc.
