Shasun Pharma net zooms by 74.5% in Q2

Shasun Pharmaceuticals, a Rs. 1,000 crore pharma major from Chennai, has announced impressive performance during the second quarter ended September 2012. Its net profit improved smartly by 74.5 per cent to Rs. 17.75 crore from Rs. 10.17 crore in the corresponding period of last year. Its EBDITA also moved up by 86.7 per cent to Rs. 41.25 crore from Rs. 22.09 crore. The company's net sales increased by 8.5 per cent to Rs. 258.37 crore from Rs. 238.16 crore. The earnings per share for the quarter worked out to Rs. 3.22 as against Rs. 2.09 in the last period.

For the first half ended September 2012, Shasun's net sales went up by 18.1 per cent to Rs. 508.36 crore from Rs. 430.37 crore and its net profit increased by 85.8 per cent to Rs. 31.57 crore from Rs. 16.99 crore in the similar period of last year.
