The Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India (Pharmexcil) is planning to bring together drug controllers from the top pharma manufacturing states to meet the stakeholders from across the country during the upcoming CPhI India event. Through this initiative the Council hopes to provide a platform to the stakeholders to have a direct one on one discussion with the top regulators on their doubts and issues relating to various regulatory changes.

It is understood that the council is at present in the process of finalising the appointment with the regulators which is expected to be arranged on the second day of the event i.e. on November 22 at the India pavilion. Industry insiders feel that it is a much needed effort at this point to boost the confidence of the industry, which is at present grappling with lot of confusion and speculation over the numerous new regulatory changes that is currently under process at the centre.

According to Dr P V Appaji, director general, Pharmexcil, they have decided to go ahead with this move to ensure that the stakeholders are given a fair chance to interact with the regulators to understand the law and their changing dynamics more precisely. This he believes will further help the Indian manufacturers to develop and expand their trade and exports.

“Having a symbiotic relation between the stakeholders and regulators are of utmost importance for the growth and incremental development of the industry, thus understanding the need for the same we want all the industry members to make use of this opportunity for their best. This programme will be a perfect platform to not only promote your business interest but also to deliberate and discuss on various regulatory issues that may help the industry in understanding the regulatory requirements and other important aspects relating to pharma trade. more aptly,” Dr Appaji urged.

He further insisted that considering the current market conditions it is essential for the pharma companies to have a clear cut idea on the changing regulatory set up of the country, making it imperative to have a close understanding and relationship with the regulators. This he stressed is more specific when it comes to exports as one of the key focus during the meeting will be on pushing forth the exports.
