28th Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology Congress to be held in Hyderabad from Jan 17-20

The 28th Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology Congress (APAO) in conjunction with the 71st Annual Conference of All India Ophthalmological Society (AIOS) is scheduled to be held in Hyderabad at HICC (Hyderabad International Convention Centre) in Madhapur from January 17-20, 2013.

The main objective of this congress is to throw light on the recent advances and latest developments in the field of ophthalmology and provide an opportunity for the participants to interact, discuss, exchange ideas with international ophthalmic experts.

AIOS is the largest association of eye surgeons in India and the second largest in the world with over 15,000 members. The three-day Congress is expected to receive about 10000 national and international delegates from across the globe.

Dr Rajvardha Azad, president APAO-AIOS-2013 informed that the big event will be inaugurated by Pranab Mukherjee, president of India.

While giving more insights into the event Dr N S Reddy, senior vice president, APAO-AIOS 2013 said, “As new advancements and developments are coming up every day, it is important that the doctors should continuously upgrade their knowledge. Programmes like the APAO-AIOS will help the eye specialists in India to upgrade their knowledge. The congress will provide an opportunity for the participants from across India as well as from other nations to update their knowledge and learn the latest developments in the field of ophthalmology.”

The event will be an apt platform for doctors, researchers and scientist to discuss, deliberate and share views on various developments in the filed of ophthalmology. There will be several sessions, courses, paper presentations, etc. in all fields including basics and advances on eye and various sub-specialties viz. cataract, cornea and external eye disease, glaucoma, neuro-ophthalmology, ocular pathology tumors, orbits and oculoplastics, pediatric ophthalmology strabismus, retina, refractive surgery, intraocular inflammation, uvetis scleritis, ocular imaging, ocular microbiology and ocular infectious diseases, ophthalmic epidemiology, orbits and oculoplastics, prevention of blindness, etc.
