Indus Health Plus, an ISO-9001:2008 certified company engaged in preventive healthcare, is looking to double its service reach from the current 29 to 50 cities within two years. From the 55 locations at 22 cities, the company has carried out over 3.50 lakh health check-ups so far. The move to expand is driven not just by the fact to extend its service pan India, but with  preventive healthcare assuming national importance with the union government recognizing its life-saving benefits.

Now during the Union Budget 2013, the government is set to provide tax saving provision on preventive health check-ups. While we have a presence in nine states which include Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Delhi & NCR, we have now partnered with Vikram Hospitals Bengaluru to foray and strengthen presence in the  southern markets, Amol Naikawadi, joint managing director, Indus Health Plus, said at a press conclave here.

The 13-year old Indus offers affordable preventive diagnostics and creates awareness on preventive health check-ups only to help reduce mortality and risks related with lifestyle diseases. “Therefore, we are looking to reach out to a million people in the next five years and thus create a more conducive environment to save lives and curb unwanted health expenditure,” he added.

Vikram Hospitals is a super specialty provider of cardiology, gastro-intestinal neurology, nephrology, orthopaedics, trauma and urology care with related interventions and therefore the Indus preventive health package is the right fit for faster diagnostics and quicker treatment access. As Indus has consolidated its presence in Maharashtra, our plan in the next ten years is to be present pan India where Indus could become a household name, said Naikawadi.

“The number of people with lifestyle ailments is growing rapidly in India and what is worse is that these ailments often manifest themselves late and during incurable stages. To prevent this number from rising further, preventive healthcare is the only viable solution and preventive health check-up is a must. Most lifestyle diseases are curable or in the least avoidable if detected in time. At Vikram, change is always evolutionary not merely revolutionary. Tying up with Indus is logical extension of our commitment to the health and well-being for the people of Karnataka,” said Dr Vikram, managing director, Vikram Hospitals Group.
