Spain and GVK biosciences emerge as major sponsors for the 10th edition of BioAsia

Spain and GVK Biosciences have joined as country and principal industry sponsors respectively, for the upcoming 10th edition of BioAsia to be held in Hyderabad from January 28-30, 2013.

Attracting leading industry giants and major state level partners, BioAsia 2013 has joined hands with many national and international stakeholders of biotechnology industry across the globe. With the theme Technologies-Business-Next, this year’s forum is set to witness the best convergence of leaders from scientific and technological world.

Apart from Spain, other major international state sponsor which is partnering with BioAsia 2013 is the state of Victoria from Australia. Among others Natco Pharma, Bharat Biotech, Lonza, Mayar Biotech are sponsoring the big event as co-hosts from the industry, while IKS international from Netherlands and Canara Bank are sponsoring the event as corporate sponsor.

GE healthcare, Sequel logistics, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, is among sessions, logistics and state partners respectively. Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC), Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) are among other partners. Grand thorton is sponsoring the event as a knowledge partner.

From the government side, Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Department of Pharmaceuticals (DoP), Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), are among the major departments and research institutions which are taking part in the upcoming forum.

Highlighting the importance of BioAsia, Raghavan, joint secretary, Department of Biotechnology said, “BioAsia is playing an important role in mobilizing investment into the biotechnology arena of the country. It has emerged as a prominent platform for facilitating investments, exploring technology opportunities as well as research and innovations for the sector.”

Overall the 10th edition of BioAsia is all set to attract a wider participation from across the industry that will culminate into more holistic discussion, debate and decision making giving the much needed momentum to the growth of the biotechnology industry in India.
