EoI signed with Brazil at 8th Nutra India Summit

An  Expression of Interest (EoI) was signed between Brazilian Society of Food Science & Technology, International Society for Nutraceuticals, Nutritionals and Naturals (ISNNaN) & Nutra India Summit at the 8th Nutra India Summit concluded in Mumbai recently.

As per the EoI, an Indian delegation under the leadership of Nutra India Summit will soon head for Brazil and hold discussions with the Brazilan industry to find out ways to enhance trade and knowledge sharing between the two countries. A trade delegation will be followed by a delegation of research institutions from India.

 “In a country like Brazil, awareness about traditional Indian knowledge of herbals and nutraceuticals is low. In a similar fashion, Indians are not aware of traditional Brazilian knowledge on nutraceuticals. This EoI is expected to enhance trade links between the two countries and bring the trading community and people closer,” said Jagdish Patankar Organising Secretary, Nutra India Summit and managing director, MM Activ Sci-Tech Communications.

The summit  held in Mumbai from March 13 to 16 was attended by  who’s who of global nutraceutical, functional foods and dietary supplement industry.

The event was inaugurated by Satej Dnyandeo Patil, Minister of State for Home, Rural and Food & Drug Administration (FDA), Maharashtra State.  Patil also is the Chief Patron of the 8th Nutra India Summit.

The summit was  organized by the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), The International Society for Nutraceuticals, Naturals and Nutritionals (ISNNaN) and MM Activ Sci-Tech Communications. The theme of the Summit this year was “Health & Wellness through Nutraceuticals, Nutritionals and Naturals”.

He requested the organizers to submit a whitepaper on deliberations of 8th Nutra India Submit, perceiving this event as the strongest gathering of voices of the industry.

International Conference had Special Session on Global opportunities focusing China, Japan, Brazil, Canada and Europe.

The event took place in a span of four days full of inspiring sessions addressed by 65 acclaimed speakers and attended by 500 plus delegates. The event observed participation from 20 countries including China, Japan, Singapore, Brazil, Canada, USA, New Zealand, Germany, Switzerland, France, Poland, Netherlands from 300 plus organizations. And InterlinX Partnering Tool had nearly 140 B2B meetings.

NuFFooDS, The Health & Food Expo had showcase of 70 exhibitors from India and overseas including corporate, scientific labs, wellness organizations and attracted around 3000 visitors. The expo also witnessed launch of metagenics in India by Heal Wellness. Sami Direct also presented their just launched product, Lycopene Beta; Face Wash Cream and Under Eye Cream. Lot of Free sampling of products took place in the Expo, making this a suitable product launch & sample distribution place for a wide variety of crowd. NuFFooDS Expo also had seminars conducted by Indian Dietetic Association, Mumbai Chapter, which included popular talks on better health for better living.

Nutra Excellence Awards recognized contribution of immense personalities and organizations.

Sami Labs, for “Its role in promoting the sectors of Herbal Products, Nutraceuticals & Dietary Supplements, to connect with the Global Marketplace”. British Biologicals, for “Its role in its Outstanding Contribution for Industry Growth in the sector of Nutritionals”. Internationally also Institute of Food Technologists, USA awarded for its “Outstanding contribution in Promoting Industry, Professionals and Student interface in the area of Food Science & Technology in the areas of Nutraceuticals & Nutritionals” and Dr. Pingfan Rao, for his “Outstanding contribution in promoting the sectors of Understanding of Science of Nutraceuticals and connect Research with the Global Marketplace”.

The Nutra Awards Function also awarded key exhibitors under each special category, for Content and Information Zeon Life Sciences and Enzo Nutraceuticals Ltd., for Design and Innovation Heal Wellness Solutions India Pvt Ltd and TCI Co Ltd., for Interactive and Best Managed NIFTEM and Bio-Gen Extracts Pvt Ltd. won the awards.

The summit also gave a platform for students’ engagement with Poster Session- “Walkway of Discovery” with participation of young researchers representing the best of Research and Academic Institutions from across the country.
