Aditya Group of Hospitals in Hyderabad had launched its second new hospital at Uppal as a part of its long term expansion plan. Already the first hospital was established in Abids long back in 1987. Having gained adequate experience and realizing the huge potential for healthcare demand, the group is planning to spread across the state with a network of hospitals in a phased manner in the coming days.
The new hospital premise at Uppal was inaugurated by preacher Tridandi Srimannarayana Ramanuja Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji and T Devender Goud, Member of the Parliament also present at the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Swamiji applauded the efforts of Aditya hospitals for catering the needs of patients and bringing international quality healthcare to Hyderabad.
“Our aim is to continue the journey with meaningful contribution to the community, we are planning to expand our branches in various other parts of the state soon,” said Dr T Yadaiah, chairman of Aditya Hospitals. At present there are more than about 300 private and Charity hospitals and around 200 nursing homes in Hyderabad. There are 50 government hospitals, 4000 individual clinics and about 500 medical diagnostic centres across the city. Together these facilities provide approximately 12,000 hospital beds, and yet the city of Hyderabad still lagging behind its required number of hospitals beds. As per the current population the required number of hospital beds in the city is 25,000. For every 10,000 people in the city, there are 17.6 hospital beds, nine specialist doctors, 14 nurses and six physicians. These figures are way behind the stipulated numbers by the World Health Organisation (WHO).
Due to poor quality of care at government hospitals and due to long waiting period, about 28 per cent of residents prefer treatment at private facilities. Because of this there is a growing demand for more private hospitals available at the nearest reach. Realising the growing demand for healthcare, many new private hospitals of various sizes have opened and many are in the planning process.
Apart from leading government hospitals like NIMS, Osmania General Hospital, Gandhi Hospital, which cater to the healthcare needs of the poor and middle class, there are reputed hospitals groups like Apollo, KIMS, Care, Kamineni and Yashoda chain of private hospitals catering to the healthcare needs of upper middle and elite population in the state. In view of this Aditya Hospitals group is also planning to expand its network across the state marking historic milestones in the healthcare of Andhra Pradesh.
