A public-interest litigation (PIL) has been moved in the Supreme Court against Ranbaxy Pharma. The PIL is seeking prosecution of all Ranbaxy directors and sealing of its manufacturing units at Paonta Sahib and Devas.
This was based on Ranbaxy USA's $500 million settlement with the US for making and selling aulterated drugs for over four years. Earlier in May, Ranbaxy had pleaded guilty to felony charges.
The PIL was filed by a lawyer Manoharlal Sharma.
