Care Hospital in association with Paediatric Cardiac Society of India (PCSI) is organising first of its kind paediatric cardiology interventional workshop (PCIW) on ventricular septal defects (VSD) and device closure from June 7 to 8, 2013.
The main aim of the workshop is to provide a learning platform where leading cardiac surgeons from different countries come together to share their experiences and propose new procedures and advanced techniques for treating ventricular septal defects in children.
With the rising cases of septal defects in children, the department of paediatric cardiology at Care Hospital has done pioneering work and has designed most advanced minimal invasive ventricular septal defect device closure techniques which will be presented during the workshop.
Around 120 doctors from different countries like Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Vietnam etc. are taking part at the workshop sharing their experiences and learning new and advanced techniques in the paediatric cardiology intervention workshop. The forum is expected to discuss possible solutions for VSD and issues of both interventional and general nature among the patients. The workshop is aimed at discussing all aspects of VSD from embryology, anatomy and patho-physiology to the most contemporary techniques on diagnosis and treatment adopted by international experts.
