KIET School of Pharmacy organises summer school at Ghaziabad

KIET School of Pharmacy (KSOP), Ghaziabad recently organised summer school at the school. This year the theme of the summer school was “Exploring Pharmaceutical Challenges and its Applications”.

The programme was focussed on academic lectures followed by instrumentation and demonstration sessions which helped the students to learn various analytical techniques as well as novel technologies for product development.

Dr Narendra Kumar, director-KIET, Dr Gajendra Singh, additional director-KIET and Dr Umakant Bajaj, principal-KSOP inaugurated the abstract book for summer school and addressed the students.

Both the sessions covered various key areas like nanotechnology, stem cell transplantation, pharmacovigilance, cGMP, clinical research and soft skills where the experts from industry and professionals shared the latest technological approach of pharmaceutical industry.

Prof. Dr Javed Ali, Hamdard University, New Delhi, and Dr Jamal Beg, country head, Merck India, addressed the students and shared their expertise on latest technologies and emerging trends in pharmaceutical sciences.

With this, industrial visits were organised in reputed and well established pharma companies like TEVA API, Unichem, Arbro Pharmaceutical and Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) towards the end of the sessions. The students were exposed to good manufacturing practices, modern analytical techniques and quality assurance in pharmaceutical houses.

Dr Umakant Bajaj the chairperson and Sanjar Alam, the faculty coordinator made this summer school a grand success and certificates were distributed at the end of the programme.
