Novartis BioCamp selects 3 students to represent India at Intl BioCamp in Switzerland

Novartis Biotechnology Leadership Camp (BioCamp), a pioneering seminar held at Hyderabad has selected three students Shreetam Subhrankar from XLRI – Jamshedpur took top honours along with Nehul Saxena of International Centre for Genetic Engineering and  Biotechnology, (ICGEB) Delhi and Dr Ankith Rai of Fr Muller Medical College, Mangalore to represent India at the International BioCamp which will be held at the Novartis Campus in Switzerland from August 25 - 28, 2013.

Ninad Karpe, CEO & MD of Aptech Limited delivered the inaugural address who  provided food for thought by touching upon current events and ethics that are much debated in  today’s times.

Speaking on the occasion, Ranjit Shahani, vice chairman & managing director, Novartis India  Limited said, “Novartis Biotechnology Leadership Camp - BioCamp, now in its fifth year,  continues to provide students the opportunities to engage with leaders in the pharmaceutical  area outside their area of study. It is a good opportunity for students to interact with leaders in  the field and network with students coming from different faculties across the country.”

Other speakers present at the event includes: Krishnan Raghunathan, vice president Solutions & Practice,  Genpact; Anu Acharya, CEO mapmygenome.com who shared her entrepreneurial experience  and Dr Prabuddha Ganguli, CEO – Vision IPR who focused on the value of intellectual  property rights. Herve Hoppenot, president of Novartis Oncology spoke to students on  addressing unmet oncology needs.
