The Bhagvan Mahavir Jain Relief Foundation trust is all set to open a new dialysis centre with an investment of Rs.2.5 crores at Mahavir Hospital & Research Centre in Hyderabad.

The new facility will have 24 new state-of-the-art ultra modern dialysis machines which are procured at a cost of over Rs.2.5 crore funded by donors and philanthropists committed for the cause. Currently, the trust has 62 dialysis machines running at three different centres in the city.

According to P C Parakh, retired chairman of the trust, the main aim of the trust is to bring modern healthcare facilities to the poor at affordable costs. As part of this initiative, the newly installed 24 machines will be put in to use for dialysis services to the poor patients at concessional rates. With this, now the poor patients only need to pay Rs.400 per dialysis- as against normal and prevailing rates of around Rs.1200 to Rs.2000.

The new dialysis centre which is spread over 5000 square feet with ultra modern dialysis stations is named after Bhagwan Mahaveer and is dedicated to Late Dhirajlal Tokarshi Kapadia, founder trustee.
