The seventh state convention of the Ayurvedic Medicine Manufacturers’ Organisation of India (AMMOI), slated for October 19 in Thrissur in Kerala, will hold eight scientific seminars on various aspects of the ayurvedic system of treatment.
The seminars will focus on ‘Difficulty in adopting amended labeling provisions for want of abbreviations for certain plant-ingredient forms’ by Dr TS Murali, Aryavaidyasala Kottakkal; ‘Amendment of rule 153 & 158B, and introduction of schedule Z’ by Dr H Sankarasubrahmaniam, scientist, Medimix; and ‘Sale licence provision for ASU drugs’ by Dr Vignesh Devaraj, Sitaram Ayurveda Pharmacy.
Other subjects of the seminar include ‘Banning the use of prefix and suffix with the names of ASU drugs’ by Dr CS Krishnakumar, Nagarjuna Vaidyasala; ‘Procurement preferences given to PSUs under NRHM’ by Joyachan Erinjeri, Everest Pharma; ‘Exemption of central excise duty for generic products and state excise matter’ by TS Gokuldas, SNA Oushadhasala; ‘Shelf life of ASU drugs’ by Dr D Induchoodan, SNA Oushadhasala; and ‘Legal metrology act & PC rules’ by R Sasidharan Pillai, executive manager, AMMOI.
Retired drugs controller of Kerala, SS Venkitakrishnan will preside over the seminar which will start at 10 O' clock in the morning and continue upto 2 pm.
In the evening, state health minister V S Sivakumar will inaugurate the state convention meeting. Member of Parliament PC Chacko will hand over the buy-back agreements from Care Keralam, the ayush cluster, to the farmers. Therambil Ramakrishnan MLA, Dr Rashidulla Khan, president, CCIM, Dr PR Krishnakumar, chairman, Care Keralam, Dr ET Neelakantan Moos, Dr PM Varrier and Dr D Ramanathan, secretary of AMMOI will speak on the occasion.
