Nova Medical Centers, India’s premier chain of specialty surgery centres and fertility centres, has bagged an award in the ‘Innovation in Responsible Business’ category at the Innovative100 Awards held recently.
The Awards felicitated India’s most innovative mid-sized companies that demonstrate the agility, responsiveness and skill to engineer smart solutions to unique problems. Nova won based on its excellence in the four parameters of uniqueness, replicability, scalability and business metrics.
VP Kamath, group chief operating officer, Nova Medical Centers who received the award stated that innovation and business responsibility in healthcare were an intrinsic part of its corporate strategy.
“This has led to the phenomenal growth that Nova has experienced in such a short span of time. The award sends a strong message that Indian companies can come up with fresh and creative approaches to healthcare problems in a tough economy, and craft successes that aren’t just profitable, but also serve as a case study for others,” he added.
A total of 300 companies were considered for the Innovative100 Awards by the Inc. magazine. The final 100 winners were selected after a four-month-long nomination and evaluation campaign. The seven-member jury included prominent investors, corporate professionals and serial entrepreneurs.
The Innovation in Responsible Business category of the Innovate100 Awards recognizes businesses that are conscious of and committed to improving their impact on the environment and community around them, and are integrating responsible practices in the way they operate their businesses.
The four-year-old Nova Medical Centers is the parent company of Nova Specialty Hospitals and Nova IVI Fertility. It currently operates 13 specialty surgery centers and 7 fertility centres. Nova was co-founded by Suresh Soni, Dr Mahesh Reddy, shoulder surgeon and the GTI Group, based on a ‘doctor-owned and doctor-managed’ concept to deliver the best possible patient care in an open and free environment.
