Pharmac South 2014, the two-day national exhibition of innovative pharmaceutical products and company profiles for good-quality enquiries, is aimed to attract more than 3000 buyers of contract manufacturing services from across the country and outside. The buyer groups will include manufacturing companies and marketing companies.
The event is expected to benefit more than 5000 small and medium size manufacturing companies of allopathic and ISM medicines located in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala and Pondicherry.
This is the first opportunity in south India for the local manufacturers and the big players from north India and other parts of the country to meet together on a single platform, build relationships for contract manufacturing services and buy innovative products. The theme of the expo is ‘Destination for Innovative and Reliable Healthcare Products’.
The mega event is jointly organised by Orbit Exhibitions, Mumbai, Indian Drug Manufacturers Association (IDMA) Tamil Nadu chapter and Pharmaceuticals export promotion council (Pharmexcil) on the 18th and 19th of July 2014 at Chennai Trade Centre at Nandambakkam here. The expo is also supported by pharmaceutical manufacturers association of Tamil Nadu (TN PMA), PDMA Pondicherry, Kerala PMA, PMA of Karnataka and the Tamil Nadu Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani Drug Manufacturers Association (TASUDMA).
“There will be more than 2000 exhibitors from southern states with their innovative products and company profiles for good-quality enquiries. Most of the manufacturing companies in the south have spare production capacities which can be utilized for the major players through contract manufacturing. Facilities will be arranged to visit the plants and other facilities also. The exhibition will be the largest showcase of south Indian pharmaceutical and cosmetic products and company profiles to an international audience. The event will bring in more than 3000 buyer groups from India and outside, and a large portion of which will be business executives”, said M Rajaratinam, chairman of TN IDMA.
He said confirmation of visitors is getting in large numbers from all over India and through Pharmexcil enquiries are coming from the eastern and western countries. Representation of more than 100 foreign companies is expected. Brand managers, product managers, export managers and outsourcing managers from companies of national and international level will be the executive visitors. The organizers are targeting a maximum of 2000 top companies from India alone. Registration for exhibition stalls by local players is progressing and the number has crossed one hundred, he added.
Along with the exhibition, three resourceful panel discussions will be arranged to benefit the visitors. One seminar is organised by Pharmexcil on the subject, “Export opportunities to new and unexplored markets’. Another one is organised by TN IDMA on “Building brands to enhance your market share” and the third one is on “New molecules in neutraceuticals’. The expo, Pharmac South, is the fifth one in series and the first one in Tamil Nadu.
