The 'young doctors' programme organized by Yashoda Hospitals in twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad has inspired young children to take up doctor profession as their career. The programme had received an overwhelming response from doctors and young children alike.

Yashoda Group of Hospitals has launched its 4th edition of 'young doctors’ programme. As a part of this programme, the Hospital group attracts a large numbers of young children and aspiring doctors to take this opportunity to work along with some of the best doctors in town and impart a real-time experience as to what it is to be, as a doctor.

With this young doctors camp, the Hospital group is aiming to give hands-on experience and opportunity to all the students to work together with eminent doctors in a superior hospital environment.

Dr G S Rao, managing director, Yashoda Group of Hospitals said, “This year more than 900 applications poured in from all over the metros, while 120 of them were selected for this camp. The camp helped these students gain deeper understanding of the entire medical profession and helped them take the right career decision. Unequivocally, the parents also expressed their keen interest in the camp.”

To help students the daunting task of taking their concrete career decisions, Yashoda Hospital came up again with this unique concept of ‘Young Doctors Camp’ (YDC) where 9th standard students (going to 10th standard) got the opportunity of gaining a first-hand experience of the medical world.

During the programme, the students were given the opportunity to interact with patients and accompany doctors in the treatment procedures, wherein they are also given the chance to watch live surgeries, handled equipments, learn to check BP, use the stethoscope, thermometer and ultimately they are given a chance to live the life of a medico for four days in the camp.

As earlier, this year too, it was a free 'four-day' camp that took place simultaneously at all the three units of Yashoda Hospitals, viz., Secunderabad, Somajiguda and Malakpet. Selection of students for this camp was based on their mark sheet evaluations and on the written skills. The selected students are provided with all the equipment as that of a doctor’s possession.

“The goal of this camp is to develop the right attitude, motivation and determination for all these students who are passionate about this line of duty to take up the demanding responsibilities, which will lead them to the relevant career in future,” added Dr G S Rao.
