Nova Hospital has launched its 9th IVI fertility centre in India and first one in Telangana state at Banjarahills in Hyderabad. The fertility centre was inaugurated by Dr T Rajaiah, Medical and Health Minister, Government of Telangana state.
As part of Nova’s expansion plans, the hospital group is aiming to launch 10 more IVI fertility centres in India. So far the hospital group has established 8 IVI fertility centres in different parts of the country. With the launch of Hyderabad centre, the hospital has embarked on its 9 centre in India.
“Problems of infertility are on the rise in India. One in every 10 couples is affected with this problem. Particularly in the rural areas, poor people are unaware of the facilities available to cure the infertility problems. Hospitals like Nova should come forward to create more awareness about this problem among the rural poor and should extend their services to the poorest of the poor under social healthcare schemes like Aarogyasri,” said, the Health Minister, while speaking on fertility problems in the rural areas.
The new facility in Hyderabad is a state-of-the-art center, which is designed to provide high quality assistance to reproductive services in the state. The fertility offers key reproductive services such as IUI (Intrauterine Insemination), IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) and Andrology (male reproductive health), along with some very advanced technologies including blastocyst culture and vitrification. In fact the new facility is regarded as amongst very few facilities in India as it is equipped to provide latest, breakthrough reproductive technique of IMSI (Intracytoplasmic Morphologically-selected Sperm Injection). IMSI is an upgrade of ICSI (Intra-Cytoplasmic Sperm injection). It enable san embryologist to carry out the fertilisation of oocytes (egg) using an extremely high-powered microscope to select the sperm cells with the best morphological quality.
While talking on the expansion plans of Nova IVI fertility centers, Mr Suresh Soni, chairman and chief ex executive officer, of Nova Medical centres said, “we are having plans to open a series of fertility centres across the country. At present our focus is on big cities. Very soon another fertility centre will be opened in Pune. In the coming days, we are also having plans to expand in Andhra Pradesh at Vizag. This year we are aiming to open about 10 more IVI fertility centre across the country.”
