The marketers and manufacturers of pharmaceutical products in Tamil Nadu will assemble at  Kodaikanal on June 21 and 22 for the 7th annual general body meeting of the Consortium of Indian Pharmaceutical Manufacturers & Marketers Association (CIPMMA).

According to A Kannan, the state president of the Consortium, about 300 marketers from across Tamil Nadu will attend the AGM. The state chairman of the Indian Drug Manufacturers Association (TN IDMA) M Rajaratinam will be the chief guest in the function.

The AGM will pass four resolutions and elect new office-bearers for 2014-16. The marketers will demand the central government to fix  ceiling prices for the raw materials required for the products coming under DPCO 2013. The consortium will reiterate its demand of  separate licences for the marketers of pharma products in their AGM. It had made such a demand to the previous government, but  was not recognised by the government.

According to sources in the organisation, some office bearers will be re-elected by the general body for a second term also. The programme is organised by the Madurai district committee of CIPMMA.
