Evaidya, an app named by combining e (for online) with Vaidya, the ancient Sanskrit word for doctor, puts medical advice within reach of patients across India. The app allows users to ask doctors questions and consult specialists for second opinions in all areas of health, including cardiology, sexology, gynaecology, urology, neurology, dermatology, paediatrics and general medicine as well as dental care.

In addition to allowing users to consult qualified physicians in a range of specialisations, the comprehensive health app can also provide a free and easy way for patients to organise their health records. It includes a feature that can monitor blood pressure and glucose trends graphically and view thousands of health questions in a database that allows quick reference based on health condition. Users can also opt to receive daily health tips and medication reminder alerts as well as upload diagnostic reports and photos for a doctor to review.

Evaidya’s goal is to provide a way for patients to connect with doctors, providing access around the clock and instant consultations with a doctor by phone. Doctors can be selected by ratings and reviews.

Evaidya doesn’t just provide benefits to patients it is a useful resource for physicians that allows them to stay connected with over 60,000 patients, practice through a virtual clinic app and promote their services through a free profile on the app. The app was designed to allow physicians to easily answer health questions and conduct consultations on the fly, monetise free time by providing virtual consultations, track earnings and consultations via a user-friendly dashboard on the platform, and create a global medical practice. The Evaidya app also has a free newsletter feature to help doctors promote their services.

“Our new online healthcare services are already allowing over 700 doctors to connect with thousands of users,” said Jayadeep Reddy, co-founder and chief executive officer
of e Health Access Pvt. Ltd. India. “Our subscribers tell us they are very happy to finally have an app that puts top-notch medical care within reach. Our goal is to further build on the strong community we are establishing in order to become the top health app on the market today.”
