IPA Convention 2014 to be held at NIMHANS, Bengaluru on August 8

The Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA) Convention 2014 will be held on August 8, 2014 at the NIMHANS Convention Centre in Bengaluru. The event is part of IPA's platinum jubilee year celebration.

The theme of the day-long seminar which is planned exclusively for regulatory and industrial professionals is ‘Excellence in Quality Applying learning to practice’.

The convention will have the presence of US FDA India Acting director Carl Sciacchitano who will deliver the Dr Venkateswarlu Memorial Lecture and speak on ‘Innovations to meet challenges and achieve excellence in regulatory compliance.’

According to the organisers, the seminar would be important not just for the industry, but also community pharmacists, hospital pharmacists, academia professionals and students. The programme covers IPA President Special Oration Lecture on ‘Quality management as an enabler for compliance through culture change’ which will be delivered by Dr. Rao VSV Vadlamudi, president, Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA) who was recognised as Eminent Pharmacist in 2013.

The scientific session will have three speakers. It will begin with Dr. Vinay Nayak, president, Alembic Chemicals who speak on Quality Audits case studies - Major Quality issues and trends. This will be followed by AG Raghu, Technical Director, Gland Chemicals Pvt. Ltd., Bengaluru speaking on Quality Systems Practical Roadmap to sustainable Quality culture. Dr. Antony Raj Gomes, Sr vice president Quality, Global API Operations, Mylan will address on Good Documentation Practices Key to overcome major quality audit findings.

SM Mudda, executive director-Technical & Operations, Micro Labs Ltd, Bengaluru will speak on Motivating Quality and Operation teams to Quality systems compliance Practical tips.
