Apollo Hospital net up marginally by 4.8% in Q1

Apollo Hospital has posted satisfactory growth in income during the quarter ended June 2014 of 17.7 per cent to Rs. 1,054 crore as against Rs. 895 crore in the similar quarter of last year. However, its net profit was under pressure due to higher cost of material and employees cost. Its net profit improved only by 4.8 per cent to Rs. 82.74 crore from Rs. 78.94 crore. Its employees cost went up by 22.8 per cent to Rs. 170.72 crore from Rs. 139.06 crore.

Its EBDITA improved by 7.1 per cent to Rs. 156.29 crore from Rs. 145.94 crore in the corresponding quarter of last year. Its interest cost declined slightly to Rs. 18.92 crore from Rs. 20.47 crore. Tax provision remained almost same at Rs. 21.16 crore.

The company's income from healthcare services increased by 13 per cent to Rs. 667.59 crore from Rs. 590.89 crore and that from pharmacy improved by 27 per cent to Rs. 386.22 crore from Rs. 304.22 crore. The profit from healthcare services remained almost same at Rs. 109.13 crore.
