8K Miles acquires SERJ Solutions to enhance healthcare cloud offering

8K Miles Software Services, a leading global secure cloud solutions company, today announced the acquisition of US-based SERJ Solutions to step up its presence in growing healthcare market with an innovative end-to-end cloud-managed solution.

Through its US subsidiary, 8K Miles has acquired SERJ, a provider of innovative Epic EHR consulting, custom application development, and support solutions for the healthcare market. This will help 8K Miles to serve hospitals and healthcare providers by providing the industry’s first truly end-to-end Software as a Service (SaaS) technology platform.

This move solidifies 8K Miles’ goal to offer a unique and differentiated cloud-managed solution to the healthcare sector by leveraging its expertise in cloud solutions, Big Data analytics, cloud security framework as well as identity management services and thus help healthcare providers to cut down the costs.

“By taking advantage of our expertise in cloud technology and information security, and combining that with deep healthcare domain expertise, this acquisition will allow us to create a compelling suite of cost effective hosted SaaS solutions that healthcare providers can deploy. This will enable organizations to dramatically improve operating margins in a short period of time, and use scarce capital to focus on patient care,” said Suresh Venkatachari, chairman and chief executive officer, of 8K Miles Software Services.

Healthcare sector, which is undergoing a transformation, has been increasingly looking for new and innovative ways to drive down the costs of care delivery across the entire care continuum. This should provide healthcare organizations with a cost effective alternative to their IT needs.

The new healthcare offering will allow healthcare providers to take advantage of 8K Miles cloud technology platform to deploy key IT services at a fraction of the cost of current offerings while addressing their identity, privacy, security and compliance needs.

8K Miles, having its registered office in Chennai, is a preferred partner of Amazon Web Service and is a certification lab partner for the US government programmes. In the second quarter ended September 30, 2014, the company had posted a profit after tax of Rs.4.14 crore, up 31.43 crore compared to Rs 3.15 crore in previous quarter. Revenue during the same period climbed 29 per cent to Rs.27.08 crore from Rs.20.99 crore.
