BioGenesis Health Cluster, a non-profit organisation operating in the healthcare sector, concluded its two global events- 3rd World Congress on Geriatrics and Gerontology & The International Conference on ‘Women and Girl Child for Social and Economic Equality 2014’ in Bengaluru.
Over 1200 delegates participated in the event over the three days. Heung Bong Cha-International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics, Korea, Prof. Mokoto Goto-Tokyo Women’s Medical University, Japan, Prof, Margaret Joy Dauncey-University of Cambridge, UK, Prof James Fozard-University of South Florida, USA, N Marquis-University Institute of Geriatrics of Sherbrooke, Canada deliberated on Geriatrics healthcare.
The closing ceremony was graced by Honorable Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Shri UT Khader and the valedictorian speech was delivered by Dr. VP Rao, Chairman, BioGenesis Health Cluster.
The three-day event address geriatrics, gerontology as well as status of women. It also focussed on issues pertaining to various neurological aspects of geriatrics and pre and post natal issues in India. The final day provided the legal aspects in the country for elderly and women, besides covered on mental health of the ageing population and about the reproductive health for women.
According to Dr. V.P Rao, Convenor, World Congress on Geriatrics & Gerontology the core objective of the convention was to reach out to the professionals in the geriatrics and women healthcare field and educate them on the innovations, treatments and available specialised care. We are overwhelmed at the response we have garnered this year. We look forward to our next endeavour towards this cause.”
Karnataka minister for health and family welfare who was the chief guest said that while the Youth was future of the nation, yet the aged were an inspiration for this future.
