Nephroplus, a leading chain of kidney care clinics in India, is gearing up to organise ‘Dialysis Olympiad 2015’ in January for dialysis patients across the country. The mega national event which is first of its kind will begin on 18 th January in Hyderabad. As part of this programme the organisers at Nephroplus are planning to launch two important initiatives which include ‘Peritoneal Home Dialysis’ and Pain Free dialysis programme using ‘button hole technique across the country.
In addition to these two important initiatives, Nephroplus is also having long term plans to launch 200 new dialysis clinics in India and overseas in the next 5 years. During the past 5 years, Nephroplus launched 50 centres and treated 5 lakh dialysis patients across the country. Commemorating its 5th year celebrations, Nephroplus is planning to launch 5 new centres simultaneously at Neyveli in Tamil Nadu, Surabhi Hospital and Samvedhana Hospital in Noida, St. Joseph Hospital in Kothamangala and Madhurj Hospital in Kanpur.
The main objective of organising ‘Dialysis Olympiad’ is give confidence to the dialysis patients that they too can live normally like others even while they are on dialysis. “At Nephroplus, we firmly believe that dialysis patients can exercise, work and have fun things otherwise healthy people do. To prove to the world that this is true, we are organising the Dialysis Olympiad where dialysis patients will compete in events like sprints, swimming and other sports and show that this is possible,” says Kamal D Shah, co-founder & director of Nephroplus.
As part of its plans to hold ‘Dialysis Olympiad’ Nephroplus is planning to model the event on the lines of Olympics and will conduct various sporting events for dialysis patients, which include events like 50 metres sprint, 100 meters sprint, chess, marathon, 25 & 50 meters swimming, volleyball, carom and badminton competition, etc. The event will be held in Hyderabad and is free and open for all dialysis patients across the country.
While talking about new initiatives of Nephroplus, Vikram Vuppala Founder & chief executive officer, of Nephroplus said, “We have introduced innovations for the first time in the country like Painless dialysis, Holiday Dialysis and Nocturnal Dialysis. Speaking about Nephroplus’s research plans, Vikarm says, “With the necessary IT investment in our dialysis centers, today we are able to collect data from across the country. Through this data, we are making progress on clinical research and now publishing papers.”
