SRMTE to organise annual conference on stem cells and regenerative medicine on Feb 2, 2015

The Society For Regenerative Medicine & Tissue Engineering (SRMTE), will hold its 11th Annual Conference on Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine on  February 2,  2015 at School Of Regenerative Medicine, Manipal University, near Yelahanka, Bengaluru.

The meeting will include several distinguished scientists and clinicians and will also involve medical professionals from all over India. The main theme of the meeting will be focussed on the clinical use of stem cells.

In addition, we plan to hold quarterly meetings in different parts of Karnataka with the aim of disseminating knowledge of the basic and applied research in stem cells and concepts of regenerative medicine, said Jyothsna. Rao, Secretary, SRMTE.

SRMTE is a non-profit organisation registered in Maharashtra, and is the oldest non-profit body in India focussing on advancing stem cell research and applications. It aims to provide a common platform for these experts to meet and discuss various issues connected with this field of specialisation. The focus is to catalyse research and development in this field and help in bringing advanced stem cell and tissue engineering-based therapies to the patients suffering from presently incurable degenerative diseases.

Since 2003, SRMTE has continuously held programmess to disseminate information regarding basic and applied research in the field of stem cells. In 2014, SRMTE held its 10th Annual Meeting on Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine in Bengaluru. Over the past decade, SRMTE has hosted several distinguished speakers from all over the world for its programmess. These include Dr. C. M. Habibullah, CLRD, Hyderabad, Dr. Polani Seshagiri, Principal Scientist, IISc, Bangalore and Dr. Gopal Pande, Chief Scientist, CCMB, Hyderabad, Dr. Ajai Kumar, chairman, HCG Hospitals, Bangalore, Dr. Shivaram, Chief Transfusion Services, Manipal Hospitals, Bangalore, and Dr. K. R. Suresh, Chair, Jain Institute of Vascular Sciences, BMJH, Bangalore.
