“The Panjab University Pharmaceutical Sciences Oration-2014” on the theme “Educating the Next Generation Pharmacists for Industry” was held by the University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS) in the Panjab University Campus on December 12, 2014 .
Professor Bhupinder Singh Bhoop, Chairman, UIPS, deliberated on the genesis of Panjab University Pharmaceutical Sciences Oration and introduced the Orator, and his antecedents in multi-disciplinary domains of pharmaceutical sciences.
Dr Ajaz Hussain, Executive Director of National Institute for Pharmaceutical Technology & Education (NIPTE), USA & Founder Director & CEO of Insight, Advice & Solutions, LLC, USA, delivered the one hour Oration Lecture to over hundred delegates. He sensitized the audience on the current global pharma scenario, accentuating the need for consciousness and understanding about the pharmaceutical quality, ethics and data integrity.
In his presidential remark, the Vice Chancellor of Panjab University, Professor Arun K Grover, deliberated on the continuing endeavour of the Panjab University towards excellence through technological breakthroughs seeking the learned counsel of stalwarts (like Dr Ajaz Hussain) through incubation centres and policy research centres for nurturing the dynamic researchers and young scientists.
Key dignitaries like Professor A. K. Bhandari, Dean University Instructions; Professor Lalit K. Bansal, Dean Research; Dr Parvinder Singh, Controller of Examinations; Professor Anil Monga, Dean Alumni Relations; Professor Rupinder Tewari, Dean Faculty Sciences; and Vineet Punia, Dean Public Relations also graced the occasion.
Annual issue of PHARMACOS, an internationally reputed periodical of UIPS was also released on the occasion.
Professor Renu Chadha, Dean, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, proposed the Vote of Thanks.
