UL and NHSRC to conduct National Symposium on medical devices safety

To strengthen the foundation for affordable and quality healthcare systems in India, Underwriters Laboratories (UL), a premier safety science company, will be organising a National Symposium on the Safety of Medical Devices, in New Delhi on February 13, 2015.

Technically supported by the National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC), the event aims to create a platform for a diverse range of stakeholders from the Ministry of Health, Medical Devices Industry, Regulators and practicing professionals from the regulatory compliance, organisational quality and business performance industry. They will come together to discuss and review the existing regulations that govern the industry and champion the cause of prioritising patient safety in the use of medical devices.

The symposium will showcase expert panel perspectives on healthcare technology and innovation in India, patient and end user safety in medical technology, the India Medical Devices regulatory framework and Make In India: Building a best-in-class MedTech Industry in India.

The event will be attended by component manufacturers, compliance engineers, R&D engineers, Quality and Regulatory approval staff, policy makers, technical marketing professionals, distributors, healthcare practitioners and bio-medical teams.
