FMRI, Philips Healthcare organise symposium on ‘Advanced MR Imaging Techniques with Focus on Pediatrics’

Fortis Memorial Research Institute (FMRI), Gurgaon, in partnership with Philips Healthcare India,  organised the three-day symposium on ‘Advanced MR Imaging Techniques with Focus on Pediatrics’, under the aegis of Indian Chapter of International Society of Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM). Dr. Jim Pipe -director, Barrow Neurological Institute, Arizona, USA and the president-elect of the annual meeting of ISMRM 2016, inaugurated the conference.

The symposium focused on improving lives by learning and taking advantage of the latest innovations in the field of Pediatric MRI to address the issue of Indian populations’ local clinical needs. Radiologists will discuss and deliberate on Dr. Pipe’s vision on how to bring down the MRI examination time from 30 to 5 minutes.

The conference brings together renowned international experts to deliberate upon the latest innovations in the field of Pediatric MRI with special reference to advanced MR Techniques applicable on neurology, musculoskeletal system and body imaging.

International speakers in the conference include renowned Radiologists and MRI Scientists like Dr. Pipe, Dr. Tim Leiner (Utrecht University Medical Center, The Netherlands), Dr. Tatsu Niwa (Tokai University Medical School, Japan) and Dr. Ponnada Narayana (University of Texas Houston, USA) among others. Expert practitioners and speakers from various leading Radiology Institutions and Centers in India like NIMHANS, PGI-Chandigarh, NBRC and Narayana Hrudayalaya addresses the participants during the three-day symposium.

Topics in the symposium include; Advanced Imaging tools to evaluate MS Gray Mater Plaque, Head & Neck Imaging in Children, Pediatric Metabolic Brain Disorder, Imaging of fetal Brain Development and Malformations, Advancement beyond Diffusion Imaging among others.
