Raghavendra Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and research (RIPER) in association with Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA) Ananthapur, is organising a national seminar on ‘Current trends and future perspective in pharmacology and pharmaceutical research’ on March 14.
The main objective of the seminar is to focus on current trends and future perspective in pharmacology and pharmaceutical research. For this, the organisers are roping in leading speakers from top Pharma companies, drug regulatory organisation and research institutes from across the country.
The main topics that would be focussed upon at the seminar include, role of preclinical pharmacokinetics in drug discovery and development, handling of pharmacovigilance science by pharmaceutical industries and career opportunities for students in pharmacology. “Through this seminar we want the students to understand the current trends and various future developments that would give them ample scope for research and development in the pharmaceutical sector. At RIPER we are actively organising various programmes for the students and faculty and help them gain knowledge and experience that in turn helps to excel in their field of specialisation,” says Dr. Mohanraj Rathinavelu, Academic in-charge and Assistance Professor, RIPER.
The organisers of national seminar are expecting Dr. J. Rajasekhar, Principal Scientist, BMPK, proprietary products from Dr. Reddy's Laboratories to deliberate on the topic ‘role of preclinical pharmacokinetics in drug discovery and development’, K. Venkatesh, Drug Safety Associate, Medical Service Department, Pharmacovigilance from Synowledge, Mysore is expected to deliberate on the topic, ‘handling of pharmacovigilance science by pharmaceutical industries’, while K. Sanjeev, Senior Research Associate, Department of Biology Syngene, from Bengaluru has been roped in to speak about the various career opportunities available in the area of pharmacology for the students.
As part of this seminar RIPER, an inter college pharma quiz competition for pharmacy students is also being organised on March 14.
